Mindfulness and Meditation
Meditation and mindfulness have become buzz words with more and more high profile people and even corporations recognising the benefits and incorporating meditation into their daily lives and workplace structure.
Like everything there are many styles of mediation. A typical image, of someone seated cross legged in silence with closed eyes is only one way you might meditate. Others may find walking in nature a meditative experience, or sailing, or chanting, dancing or the repetition of a mantra, like in transcendental meditation.
A gentle gaze on a flickering candle, focusing on one’s breathing, or following a gentle guided journey are other means that may bring someone to states of meditation and peace of mind.
At Zom Therapies we explore different options with you and recognise that while trying to learn any new skill can be frustrating and difficult at times, we are there to support your journey through your meditation practice.
We acknowledge everyone goes through different phases and sometimes one style or meditative practice will work better than another at different times. Though like anything worth the effort put in, commitment and dedication are key to obtaining the benefits you wish to gain from your meditation practice.
